The S8 is a two-way bi-amplified active loudspeaker that carries its own three-channel mixer, so a solo performer, a mobile DJ or a rental house can run microphones, a playback device and a Bluetooth source without an external console. An eight-inch coaxial transducer places the low frequency cone and the one-inch throat compression driver on the same axis, which keeps vocals and instruments arriving at the listener at the same moment no matter where the cabinet is aimed. A Class-D power stage delivers 300 W in total, split as 280 W for the low frequency section and 30 W for the high frequency section, and the whole system is tuned by a built-in DSP that offers SPX digital reverberation with four programs, delay and chorus.

Because the enclosure houses a rechargeable 12 V 12 Ah lead-acid battery pack, the S8 keeps playing where mains power is not available. At one sixteenth of rated power the cabinet runs for up to ten hours, and a full recharge takes roughly four to eight hours. When mains power is present the amplifier accepts anything from 100 to 240 V at 50 or 60 Hz, and the fanless natural convection cooling keeps the electronics silent during recording sessions and intimate acoustic sets.
